It all started when my daughter was born with a desire to giving her the best start in life. 
Whilst reading the ingredients list of what was labeled as “natural” products, I was still bamboozled by the amount of ingredients and how natural were they… really?
Surely a product can be made with minimal, recognised everyday natural ingredients?
Then more confusion….why so many products?  Surely one product could do so much more….
Rub a Dub was born!
With a passion for slow, old fashioned quality our range is lovingly handmade with respect for the earth and our skin and word is spreading fast.
With a less is more approach,  a 100% natural hand made the slow way balm that can do so much more

Our ingredients include:

Manuka Honey

Honey that is produced from the nectar of the Manuka tea tree flowers has unique antibacterial properties that are not present in honey derived from other plants. Some honeys are no more antibacterial than sugar, while active Manuka honey can be diluted more than 100-fold and still destroy infectious bacteria.
We use Manuka Honey derived from the Manuka trees on the pristine and pure coast of Tasmania.

Calendula

Calendula has a long history of use as a wound-healing and skin-soothing botanical. This lovely marigoldlike flower (although called pot marigold, it is not a true marigold) is considered a vulnerary agent, a substance that promotes healing. Calendula also has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity. It is most often used topically for lacerations, abrasions, and skin infections. Most of the Calendula used on our products are grown here on our farm, we then infuse the dried petals in organic olive oil to withdraw it’s healing properties.

Chamomile

Peter Rabbit's mother gave him chamomile tea when he was feeling ill !
The flowers of the chamomile plant have been used for thousands of years as an all-natural remedy for a variety of ailments.
Chamomile has been found to contain fairly strong antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory agents, it is also an excellent calming agent, well suited for irritable babies and restless children. Chamomile is also valued as an antimicrobial agent. A German study found that the herb inactivates bacterial toxins. Hence chamomile topically has been used for centuries to treat infections and inflammations.
We grow and dry our own Chamomile here on our farm and infuse the flower heads to include in our products.

Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Ancient civilization used olive oil to heal wounds. Today it is considered a perfect remedy for skin problems and an effective moisturiser. Olive oil benefits are surprisingly simple yet extremely effective.
Olive oil is one of the most sought after natural oils for skin care. In fact olive oil has been used as an ancient remedy for skin care during the Egyptian civilization and it is still widely used today. Everything from stretch mark therapy, acne therapy and anti-aging therapy have been used for a long time.
There are a variety of antioxidants in olive oil including Vitamin A and E but the most potent compound is hydroxytyrosol. Hydroxytyrosol is a very rare but potent antioxidant found in olive oil that prevents free radical damage on skin cells. This compound also absorbs deeply into the skin and is suitable for all skin types. For this reason, olive oil has very potent anti-inflammatory properties.
With it’s high moisturising properties, antioxidant and exfoliating properties olive oil is the best natural remedy for our skin to eat.
The olive oil in our products is from organic extra virgin olive oil hand picked and processed by Eastern Hill Organic Farm at Karoocheang here in the Central Highlands of Victoria.

Beeswax

Melted and combined with other ingredients, beeswax adds body to our skin care products. Beeswax can offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral benefits making it potentially beneficial for treating minor skin irritations. Dry, rough skin can benefit as beeswax acts as an emollient and a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin and sealing it in. Beeswax also contains vitamin A, which may be beneficial in softening and rehydrating dry skin and in cell reconstruction.
Our beeswax comes from busy bees from around Victoria and Tasmania.

Castor Oil

Castor Oil is a vegetable oil obtained from the castor bean and is an excellent source of essential nutrients such as vitamin E, antioxidants and minerals that boost skin health.
Castor oil is a natural remedy for dry skin. The triglyceride fatty acids present in Castor oil helps the skin to restore the natural moisture balance, thus preventing unnecessary dryness. Castor oil for skin is extremely beneficial when used in winter as it prevents the skin from drying up.
We obtain only pure castor oil from available local sources within Australia.

Mandarin

Not only does the citrus scent of Manderin give your skin a lovely smell, but it also has been known to cure skin disorders, assist with stretch marks and maintain moisture balance in the skin.
We source a pure essential mandarin oil from Australia for use in our Gardening Balms.

Lemongrass and Sandalwood

As well as making our skin smell lush, Lemongrass and Sandalwood has been around for centuries in herbal medicine.

Lemongrass pure essential oil
Is an anti-microbial and anti-bacterial herb. It can help ward off skin infections as well as lessen skin issues caused by bacterial infections, such as folliculitis and cellulitis. Lemongrass is also fungicidal, which means it helps cure fungus infections on the skin.

Sandalwood pure essential oil
lHas been used for centuries as an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic and has been known to help sooth and fade away scars and spots
The two soaps in our gardening range contain either Lemongrass or Sandalwood.

Lavender pure essential oil

For our bub range we have a Lavender soap due to Lavenders calming abilities to the senses, hence a pre-bed bath with this 100 % natural soap can have the added benefit of calming your baby for bed time.
In addition the antiseptic properties and anti-inflammatory properties of pure essential oil of Lavender can assist your skin to heal faster.
We are blessed with many local Lavender Farms here in the Central Highlands of Victoria and use their pure oils in our soaps.

Crushed Walnut Shells
Fantastic to exfoliate and remove that gritted dirt out of our skin with the added benefit of using a natural waste product to assist with saving our earth.
